Hunting for moss

This day we went to hunt for some good moss for the Crêche. The weather wasn't great but we had fun anyway! The grounds were empty and misty, it was kinda romantic yet a great set for a mystery show haha...hard to describe really.

Opps my umbrella peeking out!

My giant leaf!! I was fascinated with the different shapes and colors of the leaves in europe and I started a small collection of leaves in Angers which made his family laugh.

Found some premium moss!!

Trophy moss.

Decorating le sapin

It was a lovely day that morning...well it always starts out lovely in the morning then the grey clouds move in the afternoon and soon its dark. :( It seems almost like the trees were holding back the grey clouds away.

That little bit of orange.

Jean brought back a nice fat Sapin for Christmas and it's the job of the kids (namely me, Raphi and Claire) to decorate the tree. I was the head stylist and Raphi and Claire were the decorators, we were looking for a colorful xmas with a tinge of sliver... Viola~!

My little crêche maker... I love you alottle.

Our finished crèche!! with all our presents...does feel like christmas when I was a kid...when the presents were bigger and it came in all forms.

Moulin Moulin

Did you know windmill in french is called moulin? Which is why the famous moulin rouge still has a windmill on their building.

On our way back from Mont St Michel (I will post later) we went past a moulin on the outskirts of the town. We drove past it actually and decided to turn back and have a look at it. It sit beautifully on a hill overlooking the countryside, town and Mont St Michel.

Country roads are really so special, I'm not sure if its because I'm singaporean and I find these beautiful and fascinating because we don't have sceneries like this in Singapore or that it is truly beautiful.

Me, kicking up my heels in the vast green and blue.

First days of 2013 Christmas

I really love the écluse at Montreuil-Juigne. On a good day like the day I arrive at the town, it was bright and sunny and the colors were so warm and clear.

I have to walk across the small dam with a tiny bridge to get to this small island. Its a great place to sit down and hang or like I told my friend when I first met him here. "Its a great place to fall in love"

Of course with that being said, this friend is now my boyfriend. :)

I still fall in love everytime I'm here.

Its cold and I think I was looking for my gloves. Behind me you can see the small dam divider and the little bridge we had to cross. The house behind belongs to the person operating this écluse.

Along the écluse you can take the path that will bring you along the river very nicely. There are some nice houses with pretty gardens but at this time most of them have no flowers. The path would gradually go up the slope where at some point you can see the beautiful view of autumn/winter Montreuil-Juigne.

Left to right : 2013, 2012, 2010

Every time we go back to his place we would take the same photo at the same place. Its 3.5 years together now. We hope we have the chance to always do this till we grow old. :)

The tress in his park all red with the evening light.

Taken on another day in another time, this is the neighborhood.

Our happy feet...hoping this is a good year for us.
